Talk:Carefree and farsighted

Where did the word "incidental" come from? That seems like a random term. Here are some better tranlsations of this dichotomy from the Russian-English dictionary:

1. careless; unconcerned; reckless; carefree; jaunty; negligent; nonchalant; thoughtless; unguarded; rocked in security; devil-may-care; easygoing; happy-go-lucky; inapprehensive; slaphappy; uncareful; unheedful; unthoughtful; watchless; blithe; gay; incautious; light-hearted; devoid of cares; volatile; unworried

and

I've marked the ones I would pick. "Cautious" isn't quite correct. The word conveys more a sense of making preparations in time for the future rather than avoiding risk. The problem is that the Russian terms aren't all perfect themselves, and the descriptions of each dichotomy are subject to criticism. Carefree and Farsighted, or Foresighted, sound ok; expect perhaps "Provident" would be simpler for "Foresighted".Expat 16:34, 15 July 2007 (BST)

(whew that's alot of :'s :) ) I didn't say anything before but I don't know what "blithe" means either (spelling and vocab wasn't my strong suit in gradeschool :P )Obviously as a person of some intelligence I get the gist of it from the context.
